The Friends of the Squirrel Hill Library raise money to supplement the library's budget. Our primary means of raising money is the sale of used books, most of them donated by our
patrons.
You can bring donations to the library whenever it is open (M-W 10 to 7, Th-Sat 10 to 5, Sun 1 to 5) and get a receipt to take a charitable deduction on your federal income tax. |
| There is an ongoing sale area in the library
with a sampling of books, tapes, and disks of all types. Prices range from 25 cents to $2.
|
We also have a "Free Box" downstairs at the Forbes Avenue entrance,
where we give away damaged and outdated materials.
PLEASE do not leave donations there, since we will never see them/sort them/make money from them for the library. (You may leave encyclopedias with the Free Box items, since we never manage to sell encyclopedias no matter how cheap we make them. You might as well bypass us and give them away directly.) |

In July, we participate in the Squirrel Hill Sidewalk Sale with a 4-day sale of all of our fiction, children's books, audio/visual items, and foreign language books. The last day is a Bag Sale. This year, the bag sale will include all the adult fiction. We give you a brown grocery bag; you fill it with whatever you want and pay a flat $4. If you wish to post this flyer at work, at school, etc., you can print a copy from a Word or .pdf file. (Use your browser's "back" button to return here.) Copies are also available at the Squirrel Hill Library, on the table near the copy machine across from the Service Desk. |

You can print bookmarks that list all of the sales for this year. |
